Sometimes determining the best natural hair loss remedy can be rather daunting, especially with the suggested number of cures seemingly available. It’s true, many homeopathic remedies do exist, but with regards to herbal medicine, saw palmetto has proven to be extraordinary in fighting the onslaught of male pattern baldness or MPB.

MPB is also known as androgenetic alopecia, a genetic condition caused by the hormone dihydrotestosterone or DHT. DHT attacks the follicles by blocking the nutrients necessary in order to make the hair grow. Therefore, the follicles weaken and the hair falls out. The hair follicles most susceptible to DHT, as you might have guessed, are located at the front of the head.

Saw palmetto is a natural remedy that counters and therefore blocks the production of the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme. It’s this enzyme that converts testosterone into the dreaded DHT. Saw palmetto bars the production of this enzyme so DHT is unable, therefore, to damage the follicles.

Along with saw palmetto, a natural treatment that contains such ingredients as magnesium, zinc, biotin, and vitamin B6 combined with the curative and restorative properties of the saw palmetto herb is an excellent therapy for curtailing future hair loss and keeping the hair healthy and growing.

Side effects are vastly diminished as well if you use a natural hair loss remedy containing the above-stated ingredients, or herbs like saw palmetto. When the aforementioned ingredients are used in combination with any product containing Minoxidil (a safe conventional treatment for most users), one can see amazing results, especially those individuals who are experiencing the early stages of hair loss.

The main side effect of Minoxidil is normally an itchy scalp, but this is primarily because of its alcohol base. Very rare side effects have been known to occur, in isolated cases, such as swelling, changes in heart rhythm and faintness.

When Minoxidil and a natural remedy, such as saw palmetto, are regularly used along with a program of healthy eating and stress-reducing activities, balding can be reversed.

In addition, taking advantage of some of nature’s most curative and restorative herbal remedies is helpful as well. Not only does saw palmetto work wonders, but supplementation with herbs like Ginkgo biloba and nettle roots has proven to work as well as, if not better than, synthetic or prescription medicines in blocking DHT.

A diet rich in whole grains, nuts, eggs, and soybeans also supply individuals with the essential B-complex vitamins needed to prevent baldness. Of course, eating healthy will be of limited benefit if you don’t learn to relax as well. Stress is a factor in baldness too so it’s important to reduce stress and practice such stress-reducing activities as meditation to restore balance in your system.

Therefore, a natural hair loss remedy comprises eating the right foods, regular supplementation of herbal remedies such as saw palmetto, and using treatments containing Minoxidil to restore growth. With patience, when using this kind of therapy, you can see positive, lasting results in a relatively fair amount of time (usually 4 – 6 months). And, as most sufferers know, it’s definitely worth the wait.

What causes hair loss in men?

Male Pattern Baldness (MPB) is a genetic trait. It’s called Androgenetic Alopecia. It’s inherited from your family. If the men in your family are showing a bald spot on the crown, it’s likely you will too.

This is an issue men have been dealing with for centuries. According to legend, Julius Caesar invented the laurel leaf wreath to cover his receding hairline.

Too bad Julius didn’t have access to Provillus in the days of the Roman Empire.

MPB results from genetic traits, and hormonal causes. Provillus can’t change your genetic history, but it can help with the hormonal causes.

DHT is the hormone involved in hair loss

Normally, hair has three phases of growth:

Anagen – The growth phase, lasts for two to six years. Usually 90% of the hair is in growth phase. Catagen – A transient phase lasting a few weeks. The hair becomes thinner and the follicle starts shrinking. Telogen – The thinned hairs fall off to make way for new hair. This lasts for two to four months.

When excess DHT is in the bloodstream, it shortens the Anagen, or growth phase, and causes premature shrinkage of the follicles. Because the DHT is bound to the follicle, often the hair will not re-grow normally.

Provillus helps block DHT from strangling your hair follicles.

Minoxidil, the ingredient clinically proven, and approved by the FDA for re-growing your hair, inhibits DHT. This powerful active ingredient works in your hair follicles.

We add a nourishing blend of natural herbs and minerals to the Provillus formula for men. These herbs and minerals support and provide nourishment to nourish your scalp and hair.

I guess this “laser comb” works by stimulating blood flow to scalp (by producing heat I suppose, below epidermal), I told him microwaves can heat below the epidermal layer and stimulate blood flow, I told him to try putting a cell phone on his head, or if cell phone not powerful enough, to place his head in a microwave oven (that is ON) and cover the rest of his head in foil (to protect eyes face and rest of head etc.) and just leave the top part of the scalp exposed, should heat up his scalp and increase blood flow and increase hair regrowth, right? (told him to try low to medium-low power (on microwave oven) first for a few weeks, then maybe increase power if no effect.

he gets P’d off when I say these things, but I think his wearing a baseball cap all the time is goofy, I tell him I think it is causing him more hair loss through contact alopecia esp. around the temple area LOL

At the rate of my progression will i go completely bald/partialy bald or is it maybe just a mature hairline. Ive heard that if your going to go completely bald you would definitily know by 27. is this true?
