There is a thread on http://forum.blackhairmedia.com on going natural. Basically you have to keep your hair conditioned and moisturized, use a wide toothed comb and do not use any heavy sticky products like grease. There is a site that teaches basic techniques to greatly reduce breakage when washing your hair on http://growafrohairlong.com
References :
im going natural too and i did the "big chop". My hair was really long and i kept cutting it shorter and shorter into different styles but when the new growth got about 2 in long i cut the relaxer out and now its just short and curly. If your not scared to have short hair you should try it too. its very easy to take care of and its really cute.
